| So Sarah D reminded me I have a Xanga account and hence...I've returned. Anyone still home?
I had major surgery on my right foot May 9th due to rhuematism...yes
I'm a hot, young thang with a geriatricdisease. After 8 1/2 weeks, I
got my cast off Thursday! It feels great to be free to start walking,
swimming, & driving again. A LOT of friends have helped me out in
big ways by doing small tasks most folks take for granted. So for that,
I am grateful.
Just enjoying the beach with some of my Athens gals, loving the sun,
sand, and breeze. Hope all is well with my xanga friends and you're
enjoying your summer!

| 14 days in South GA will definitely take one to their southern
roots...picking blueberries, slicing home grown tomotoes, splitting
peas from their pods, and watching old home videos that range from your
parents to you in diapers. Only a family can afford so much
embarrassing material.
Summer's flying and the heat needs to go!

| The worst week of teaching so far...survived but was grumpy,
frustrated, and negative by week's end...just not me. I'm heading up to
Athens this weekend to complete my annual 50K bike ride during the
Twilight Criterium.Come on up or down for the fun!
I attempted to train today by attending my 2nd ever spinning class.
Quite a concept...people sweating, churning their leg muscles into
knots, invigorated by loud, fast rock/pop music, staring at each other
in the mirror all inside the local Y - offered twice daily most
days. Who could imagine actually getting on a REAL bicycle
and exploring the neighborhoods and highways of Atlanta on a nice
spring day? I went because I needed the practice and it's rainy and 50s
for an odd end of April.
I love when a new season finally comes and you realize life is always
changing. Reviewing a year can make you see how much people, events,
thoughts, and dare say, yourself, can weirdly be the same or very
different through the ups and downs around the sun...ponder that one or
just repeat to yourself the old saying...April showers bring May
flowers.
Enjoying the reality of new life all around...

| I really like being a teacher...can you tell in my last 2 xangas?

| Just getting back into the daily work routine after a nice spring
break. Man, I love being a teacher! Sooo nice to be able to get giddy
for a wee holiday and then SUMMER! I think a spring break really can
allow one to embrace a new season in Atlanta with the Dogwood Festival
in Piedmont Park, Braves games, and the yellow stuff (pollen galore!),
making it evident you must sit back to enjoy it all until the allergies
hit.
Isn't it always fun to begin planning for travel adventures? I'm
starting to brainstorm ideas already. Colorado, Texas, Latin America,
who knows...I'll fill y'all soon enough. I love hearing where others
have been...what do you suggest?
